OLD TOWN HOTELS
Old Town Key West is the best area to stay in if you want everything within walking distance. The Old Town options I have below start in the $200 range and go up from there (when I looked). However, the other side of the island is usually more affordable and most hotels offer shuttles.
Many of the places I visited myself to check out. Some are word of mouth recommendations.
This website offers 6 different boutique hotels and cottages in Old Town.
Island City House - Great place to stay. Not far walk to Duval Street.
Make sure it is the Island CITY House Hotel and not the Island House resort (they are different).
Simonton Court - Super cute, prime location and offers different options such as 1 or 2 bedroom cottages (some with extra loft). Great for couples or people requiring more than one bedroom.
Casa325 - Affordable for Old Town. Right off of Duval Street.
La Concha Hotel - A Crowne Plaza Hotel. I never stayed here but the reviews are decent and it's right in the heart of old town. It has a restaurant, bar, spa and Starbucks below it.
Bigger hotels along the water -
The Marker, Margaritaville, The Pier House, Hyatt Centric and the Ocean Key Resort. Most of them are over $300/night due to resort fees.
The next page will give you some suggestions for lodging in Key West.
Since the hotels required 10 or more reservations to get a group rate, we did not block rooms anywhere. Many of the adorable boutique hotels of Key West offer better rates and we didn't want our guests to feel required to stay somewhere specific.
We will be staying at the Island City House Hotel on Williams Street in Old Town. There were still some rooms available as of 7/13.
We highly recommend calling the places you are interested in, especially if you see a room on the website that is not showing up on the online reservations.
Take the Key West Express FERRY from Fort Myers or Marco Island
This is a fun option. $155 round trip when I looked. The ferry has food and a bar and is ~3.5 hours. Southwest Florida International Airport is the closest to Fort Myers and Marco Island.
Take a commuter plane or rent a car and drive from Fort Lauderdale or Miami airport.
There are several options for getting to Key West. You can fly into Fort Lauderdale, FL or Miami, FL and take a ~1 hour commuter plane over the keys or rent a car and drive down U.S. Route 1 (Overseas Highway). Car travel from Fort Lauderdale is a 3.5 hour drive and from Miami it is a little over 3 hours.
Commuter plane airlines:
Options for the commuter plane from Fort Lauderdale will be United, Delta, Silver Airways and American Airlines.
Options for the commuter plane from Miami will be American Airlines and Delta.
If you decide to rent a car from Fort Lauderdale or Miami and return it to the same airport, there are plenty of companies to choose from. Just go to a travel website like Expedia to get an idea.
If you decide to pick a car up at one of the main airports and drop it off in Key West, you will only find Avis, Hertz and National Car Rental on the island.

Great news! Our wedding venue still stands after Irma hit Key West.
Most structures are still standing, however, if you already booked a hotel we suggest calling to check on the status.
